Dear Partners in Mission,
We come to the end of 2018 with the chance to once again reflect on what God has done. As I write this letter, my heart is overwhelmed with two emotions: gratitude and longing.
First, gratitude. You have said tearful goodbyes to your friends, church members—even your sons and daughters—when they sensed the Holy Spirit leading them to become Global Partners missionaries. You have built relationships with national leaders and missionaries through short-term trips. You keep giving sacrificially. You pray without ceasing. Without you, this mission could not go forward. Thank you for giving your lives to the only mission that matters for all eternity.
Second, longing. The sobering reality is that there are over three billion people in our world today who live without access to the gospel in their community. These are people deeply loved by God. People who Christ died to save. People who—like you and me—have hopes, dreams, and burdens. We long for all of them to experience the joy and freedom that only comes from a relationship with Jesus Christ.
This reality is why what you do is so important. Together, we are all stewards of the mission God has given us to make disciples of all people groups—even those that are far away and hard to reach.
As you read this report, I pray your heart will be encouraged. May you find joy in the fruit that God has given in response to your efforts. And may your longing continue to grow—for followers to be multiplied, for leaders to be developed, for churches to be reproduced, for nations to be transformed—until every person has heard the good news. Because, we are convinced that everyone who hears can be made new.
